el Amor Nunca Muere

Love Never Dies

Celebrate Día de Muertos with

Happy Hermit Soothing Sounds

Dia de Muertos is an ancient celebration that began with the Aztecs. It is a special time of year when the veil between life and death gets thinner so our departed loved ones can return to visit us. And what is the proper thing to do when a long-lost love one returns? Bring them their favorite food and celebrate, Claro! Celebrate them, celebrate their life, celebrate the love you share that will never die. The offerings and time spent revisiting the love we feel for those on the other side keeps the bonds of love strong. They can still nurture us and we can still nurture them. So please join us in 2 days of connection, love and celebration of life & death!

During the 48 hr event we will be doing a LOVE (live) stream on Happy Hermit Soothing Sounds YouTube channel. At any point between 12a Nov.1st- 11:59p Nov.2 rd you can come visit our ofrenda and enjoy special videos meant to help reflection and celebrating the love we still share with those we can’t see anymore but feel deeply.

You can be a part of the event by remembering your loved ones with us!

Request your Memorial

During the event our ofrenda is a welcome place for all. We will be accepting photos with short descriptions of people or pets you lost and we have a special place designed in the ofrenda where we can display your photo and sentiment to share with your family & friends around the world, as well as the Happy Hermit community.

Request your Memorial

(the details)

To send us a picture of your loved one please email us using the email below after you have read the guidelines:

Please copy & paste the following text into your email and answer the questions as well as attaching a clear photo in the email. We may need to edit your photo to ensure the person or pet is clearly seen and fits in the space.

Text to include:

Name of person/pet (non vulgar nicknames are acceptable):

Birth & death dates: (optional)

A short phrase that sums up your sentiments (150 character max)

What time zone are you in?

We plan to play the memorials (5 minutes each) between 5-10p Central time. Exceptions can be made for people on the other side of the globe. The Hermits are night owls so if your 7p is our midnight for example, we will still be awake and happy to share your memorial at a time that fits your time zone if we can! If your 7p is our 6a… your probably out of luck but please tune in and subscribe!  The more we grow we can get more moderators to accommodate you in future shows!

Also, if we get more entries than we can fit in our planned 5-10 p time frame we may expand the memorial time and we want to be aware of what time zone you are in to try to schedule your memorial in prime time where you are so basically… don’t skip this question!

And now to our final question? Wanna be friends?

We rarely but occasionally send announcements to our subscribers about upcoming news and events. We will never sell your information or spam you. We’re Hermits we don’t like being overwhelmed with emails and we won’t do that to you.
Would you like to be added to our email list for occasional Happy Hermit news and next year’s event?

(Ok. Stop copying here :)

Guidelines:

Photos and sentiments will stay on screen for 5-10 minutes. We will email you letting you know what time to watch and we have just gotten the stream working so we can put your comments about your loved one on screen during the event and we will even invite a few people on to talk about people they miss. The convos need to stay short between 5-10 minutes as well (… I’ll try to keep my mouth in check. tee hee)

Pictures must be of real people or pets who have died you knew personally. Celebrities will not be accepted. Also, we have a sense of humor but we also have respect for what Dia de Muertos is about so even though we are sure you love and miss your old car we can not accept memorials to objects or anything that shows disrespect for the holiday.

No duplicates. Only one photo of each person will be shown once during the show but don’t worry! We will schedule a time and send you an email so you know exactly when to tune in.

If you have more than one person or pet You can put multiple entries in your email and if we have time we will be happy to put more than one photo up for you. Please put them in the order you want them. We aren’t asking you to pick favorites. We know you love them all but think: if I only get one which best represents everyone I want to honor or which is most important right now for me? We promise they understand if they aren’t your #1. Egos don’t exist where they are, only love, and your love and intentions will not be misunderstood.

We are trying to keep the event recorded but we can not make promises with how unpredictable all the moving parts are.  (Our first goal is: keep the love/live stream going. 2nd priority: It’d cool if it gets recorded) Have your screen recorder ready! You are welcome to make a personal recording. The music will be copyrighted music we paid for however so we don’t suggest posting it anywhere you have concerns about copyright strikes. Other than that… feel free to grab your own memory of it and share with your friends!

Pictures do not have to be of the person or pet. This is different than sending us an object you are mourning as mentioned above. An object that represents a person you don’t have a picture of is fine. We know some people don’t have photos or may have reasons to not to want to share them online but we want you to be able to participate. We will accept artwork or photos of objects/symbols of the person or pet as long as it is family friendly, follows the other guidelines and please minimize logo use. We can get copyright strikes for photos taken by professional sources or if there are logos we don’t have the right to use in our show.

For example: A coke can on a table in a picture is fine. A picture of a coke can is pushing it. Hiding labels by turning them away from the camera or covering them is acceptable. Just please be aware we have an audience and legal issues we need to respect when selecting your image.

We reserve the right to reject any entry for any reason without notice. If you receive an email saying we have you scheduled there was no problem with your entry. If you hear nothing we probably had to reject it and if we can . Entries that do not follow the above guidelines will be rejected w/o notice. If we receive more entries than we can fit in the event.

Ok yuck! We hate rules but we need a few guidelines! Thank you for your interest in the show and participating! We are excited to meet you and your loved ones on the other side in a celebration of LOVE!
